Strengthening Pakistan’s Maritime Future Through Dialogue

It was a privilege for Trade Facilitation Network (TFN) Chairman Muhammad Anwar and Member Board of Governors Nadir Mumtaz to meet with the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar, for an extensive discussion on Pakistan’s maritime sector and trade facilitation. The meeting was facilitated by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting, which continued for over three hours, focused on key issues including port infrastructure, logistics connectivity, trade facilitation, regional transport corridors, customs reforms, and investment opportunities associated with Karachi Port Trust.

TFN shared practical recommendations aimed at improving trade efficiency, strengthening multimodal transport, and enhancing Pakistan’s position as a regional trade and logistics hub. The Honorable Minister listened attentively to the proposals, addressed the concerns raised, and assured his full support for initiatives that promote trade facilitation and infrastructure development.

We appreciate the Minister’s openness to constructive engagement and look forward to continued public-private collaboration in building a more competitive, connected, and efficient maritime ecosystem for Pakistan.
